Now back to giving God’s way. Let’s start – I don’t know if I’m going to finish this, this may be one of these long, long things. I’m not sure what’s going to happen. Just bear with me.

Pastor Melissa Scott tells us that turn in your Bibles to Genesis 4. Now you don’t get any more basic than that, do you? That’s the very basics of the very basics. Genesis 4:3 has the offering of Cain and Abel. Now I’m not wanting to teach on Genesis. I’m talking about the laws of giving God’s way. Cain and Abel, you read Abel’s offering in the 3rd verse I believe it is. You read Abel’s offering “And in the process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD. And Abel, he also brought of the firstling of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering,” Cain, no, no respect.

Now I know a lot of people have debated over this. I don’t think there is a debate. Cain offered in a bad spirit, he had a bad spirit in him to begin with. He was corrupt from the beginning. Abel brings his offering and people say “Well was it because Abel’s offering was an animal and Cain’s was the toil of his hands?” In part, but think about it, back in Genesis 3:7 God cursed the ground. And then this kid turns around and brings to God what He cursed. “Here let me give you what you just cursed so you can have some of what you cursed.” People give like that. What about Abel’s offering? And I like this because it’s very much looked over. How did Abel know to bring an animal? And I always say this goes back to some common thread somewhere most likely when God killed the animal that became the covering for Adam and Eve in place of their leaves that they made. At that point and then they are thrown out of the garden. I’m sure probably the spirit in them recognizing what they had done. Probably from some part close to the opening of the garden, somewhere nearby within eyeshot they came and probably emulated – if it was instructed by God they certainly tried to emulate what God did because now the children, at least one child is doing it. And then you fast-forward to Noah.
